Open Studio model sessions
Open Studio model sessions
Join a community of artists practicing together at Studio Incamminati!
Our Open Studio sessions offer artists of all experience levels the opportunity to draw, paint, or sketch from professional portrait models in the welcoming, collaborative atmosphere of Studio Incamminati’s studios. Whether you’re developing your skills, experimenting with new approaches, building a portfolio, or simply enjoying the practice of working from life alongside fellow artists, Open Studio provides an affordable and inspiring space to create.
Sessions are uninstructed, allowing artists to work independently at their own pace. A session monitor coordinates with the model and is available to answer questions. Easels and taborets (rolling tables for supplies) are provided—just bring your preferred art materials.
All experience levels are welcome. Come draw, connect, and be part of an artistic community!
Faces of Philadelphia
A community portrait series at Studio Incamminati – Meet the people who shape our city, one portrait at a time. Join our artists as Philadelphia’s business owners, cultural leaders, and community members take their turn in the portrait chair.
We’re excited to launch this new series that brings artists and the broader Philadelphia community together! By inviting local business owners, cultural leaders, community members, and other interesting Philadelphians to sit for a portrait, we hope to introduce new faces, build connections across our city, and celebrate the people who make Philadelphia such a vibrant place.
These informal portrait sessions are open to artists of all levels – whether you’re a seasoned painter or just looking for an opportunity to draw from life. Sessions are $15 for the public. Come draw, paint, meet someone new, and be part of a growing creative community!
The Friday before the session, participants will be emailed travel/facilities information as well as “virtual keys” that allow access to the building. For questions, reach out at info@studioincamminati.edu or call (215) 592-7910 ex. 1.

First up in the chair (Nov. 15):
STEVE W.
IG: bokambassador
This first one is personal for us! Steve is a member of the dedicated maintenance and operations team at the Bok Building, our home in South Philadelphia. Steve and his colleagues work behind the scenes to keep this massive, 340,000-square-foot former vocational school running smoothly and make it such a special place for the hundreds of artists, makers, and small businesses who call it home.
He’s also an all-around swell guy and a distinguished-looking fellow—perfect for a portrait! Come paint (or draw) Steve!
