Student Gallery - Casts
Cast drawing and painting enables the student to learn the skills of angle, shape and value relationships. Students begin by doing simple, long-term studies of casts of the eye, nose, mouth and ear. Starting with very precise linear contour and shadow shape drawings and progressing over the semester to fully developed, full-value drawings or paintings. By drawing and painting the plaster casts, artists develop an understanding of how to find simple forms underlying the more complex surface form.
