Things to see and do at the exhibition

  • View studies created in classes by students during their rigorous training. Charcoal gesture studies, grisaille (black and white) paintings, color studies, still life, and long pose color portrait and figure paintings will all be on display.
  • Meet our models and see their artwork. Many of our models are artists themselves and their work will also be on display. A table, hosted by a local modeling group, will also be setup to answer your questions about modeling.
  •  Test your skills with a “You Draw, You Pose” session guided by our level 1 students. They’ll show you how we do short (1-10 minute) charcoal drawings. Try drawing yourself or even posing (clothed, please). The drawing part is easy, but posing is quite difficult!
  • It’s not all about nudes. In fact, most of our graduates go on to paint a variety of subject matters. The traditional figure training, however, builds the fundamental skills required to see, draw and paint. Students will, for the night of the exhibition only, have work on display that they have created outside of classes.
  • Explore a unique retrospective exhibition containing work from Yoni Park, a student from the very first year that Studio Incamminati was opened over 20 years ago.
  • View a selection of paintings of Salomé created by students earlier this year for our annual fundraiser gala. Three models posed for students for a total of 24 hours over six nights after classes. The resulting works, including the one used to headline this event, and a giclée print of Nelson Shanks Salomé painting, will all be on display.
  • Talk to faculty and administrators. Interested in enrolling, or taking a workshop or night class? Perhaps you’d just like commentary on your own portfolio of work? Studio Incamminati has it all, and you can even earn a degree while taking classes through our partnership with Rowan University.
  • See the unveiling of a painting of the award winning Bluecoat Gin to be hung in the Philadelphia Distilling Company’s distillery, located in Fishtown. Philadelphia Distilling, the first craft distillery in Pennsylvania since prohibition, was founded in 2005 to create compelling spirits geared for the American palette.
  • Meet our sponsors. They’re all interested in art and would love to hear from you too!
