Project Home

Since 2015, the Studio Incamminati x Project HOME Art Program, has been providing a foundational art workshop to individuals recovering from homelessness. The project was conceived as a part of Studio Incamminati’s mission to help create highly skilled artists who will inspire others and make meaningful contributions to our arts community and beyond.

With feedback from the Project HOME artists, Studio Incamminati’s Michela Mansuino, Linda Dennin and Daniel Mahlman help to create and execute a curriculum that mirrors the Studio Incamminati core, Advanced Fine Art Program. Michela and Linda teach the 11-week semesters (two semesters per year) that meet twice a week for 3-hour labs. Artists from the program have gone on to secure their own exhibitions, create fledgling businesses, and teach others in their own art classes at Project HOME residences. Since 2018, artists in the program have been annually invited by the prestigious Rittenhouse Square Fine Art Show to exhibit in their spring show.

While participants focus on art practices as a means to overcome adversities, the teaching artists develop new communication abilities by working with a disadvantaged community. Both organizations benefit from the enriching cultural exchange.

The program is funded by Studio Incamminati board member Richard Rossello, owner of Avery Galleries, Bryn Mawr and New York City, and administered by Rachel Ehrgood, Project Home Art Program Coordinator.
