Graphite Drawing: Figure, Form, and Light
This workshop will focus on drawing the figure in graphite with an emphasis on accurate gestural drawing combined with anatomy and structure. We’ll progress through block in’s into a fully rendered figure drawing over the course of the week.
Demos and Lectures each morning will focus on gesture drawing, refinement of gesture through anatomy, creating accurate form based light/shadow shapes, fall off of light and atmosphere and large and small form modeling in relation to the light source.
Poses will start with one day of shorter studies to get an idea of the way that I like to block in the figure followed by a 4 day long pose.
